Channel 1.0.4
A big one: Channel can now host a plugin in every window, and a new Plugin Only mode turns any window into a tight, standalone plugin device.
Channel 1.0.4 - New
-
Multiple windows, independent plugins: Open as many Channel windows as you like — each one hosts its own plugin with its own audio engine, input and output device routing, channel strip, and Parameters HUD. Load ANA2 in one window and Lounge Lizard in another and play them both at once.
-
Per-window MIDI input: Every window's channel strip now has a MIDI port picker — choose All MIDI Ports (the previous behaviour) or a specific controller, so each window can be played from its own keyboard. Build your own modular rig: several windows, several instruments, routed wherever you like.
-
Plugin Only mode: A new toolbar button collapses the sidebar and channel strip and shrinks the window to the loaded plugin's exact size — a clean, minimal host for running a single plugin as a device. Great for input DSP while recording, or for routing through virtual devices like BlackHole. If the plugin resizes itself, the window follows; press the button again to restore the full workspace.
Channel 1.0.4 - Changed
-
The Parameters HUD is now per-window, so each session inspects its own plugin's parameters.
-
Audio device and channel-strip preferences are saved by the last remaining window, so open windows never fight over your defaults.
Channel 1.0.4 - Fixed
-
Fixed a crash that could occur when closing a window or unloading a plugin while MIDI was flowing.
-
Improved stability when loading and unloading plugins during a debug session.
